Knowledge does not know file format.

In principle, UKIS displays all information in in a standard browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera etc.) using plugins. The UKIS converter engine processes data into an Internet compatible format no matter whether it is a MS-Office document, a PDF-, DXF-, TIFF-file, or information from a database. Documents can be maintained in different formats: among others ASCII, HTML, MS-Office (.doc, .xls, .ppt), RTF, PDF, PostScript, TIFF, JPG, GIF, DXF etc.

UKIS displays text documents either as HTML- or as PDF documents. The required conversion takes place automatically. It is also possible to display various original formats directly, e.g. HTML, MS-Office, RTF, PDF, DXF, TIFF etc. Further document types (e.g. 2D/3D-CAD files created with AutoCAD, Microstation, Solidedge, Solidworks etc.) can be displayed either with the integrated DXF-Viewer or with other free viewers.

Documents are always maintained in the original format in UKIS. As long as they are not already in the cache, the documents will be automatically converted and linked the moment they are opened. This unique functionality allows to provide an extensive, up-to-date information network in an Intranet.
